This is a stencil painting of Walter White from the hit AMC show Breaking Bad as played by Bryan Cranston.
The show is about a high school chemistry teacher, Walter White, who after discovering he has cancer enlists a former student, Jesse Pinkerman, to help him produce the finest quality methamphetamine ever produced. All in an effort to raise sufficient funds to support his family after his death. A cause not helped by Walters DEA brother in law or the existing drug dealers in the area. A gritty but very well written and acted show.
It is painted onto a pre-stretched 30cm x 40cm canvas using hand cut paper stencils, MTN 94/Belton spraypaint, posca/montanna paint pens, black emulsion and masking tape.
The canvas was primed with black emulsion then taped around the border.
A layer of green MTN 94 and transparent white Belton were then applied over the top with details being added in green shades of paint pen.
After that a layer of stencils in red of the periodic table, topped off with a multilayer stencil of the character played by Bryan Cranston in shades of brown.
This painting is the end product of several weeks of planning, cutting and painting. It would make a great gift to anyone who is a fan of the show, or even of just Bryan Cranston himself.
